EXPANSION AND RENOVATION PLANS

Riverwood’s service area is growing and changing. In fact, Aitkin County is home to the second oldest population in the state. Over the next three years, volume projections forecast that Riverwood will see a three percent increase in visits to the hospital and clinics. It is critical that we join together today to meet the needs of our growing region by:

  • Expanding the hospital from semi-private patient rooms with 24 beds to 25 all-single patient rooms

  • Adding a new intensive care unit

  • Constructing a new, more private labor and delivery area with an added birthing suite
  • Relocating the pharmacy for closer proximity to the nursing floor

  • Adding a new chemotherapy area with five infusion bays and a private entrance

  • Enlarging the surgery lobby and consult rooms
  • Upgrading the rehabilitation department to serve more patients for inpatient and outpatient therapies

  • Consolidating administrative services into one area to improve efficiencies and bring all Aitkin staff together on one campus

Together, we will meet increasing needs.

"One of the reasons I give to Riverwood Foundation is that I have pride in working for Riverwood and I want to give back part of what I am getting.  Our healthcare system is such an important part of this community and I want to play a part in knowing that it remains vital."
