Grief support group in McGregor

Monday, January 14th, 2013

Are you grieving the loss of a loved one?  You can find information and help at a grief support group being held in McGregor this winter.

The 4-week grief group series will be held Thursdays from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m., Feb. 7, 14, 21 and 28, at the Riverwood McGregor Clinic. Group facilitator Mary Ann Kult is a parish nurse atGraceLutheranChurchand received her grief facilitator training at St. Mary’s Grief  Support Center in Duluth. She has been leading grief support groups for the past nine years.

“Guided discussion will be enhanced by videos on grief topics,” Kult explains.  “Group discussion is always confidential and often a bond is formed among the group members as they share their feelings and experiences. The group also welcomes those individuals who are not yet ready to share their grief journey but want to come to listen and learn from others.”

A past grief group participant commented:  “The loss of a loved one comes to all of us.  The bereavement group helped me feel that I was not alone.  We were able to support each other and share ways to cope, as well as some of the good memories.  We all gained something from it.”
