The new wing, located in an addition on the south side of the hospital, will house about 60 to 70 employees from multiple departments, including administration, billing, Riverwood Foundation, education, finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, medical records, and quality and risk services.
“We are excited to finally bring most of our employees onto one campus in Aitkin,” says Michael Hagen, Riverwood CEO. “This move, which was an integral part of our strategic master facility plan, will greatly enhance the efficiency of our operations and make it easier for patients to access services all in one location.”
New location for billing, employment services
The existing support services building at 24 5th St. SW in Aitkin will close at 5 p.m., Thurs., June 14, for the move, which will take place June 15-17, and will no longer house any Riverwood services or staff.
Effective June 18, Riverwood patients who want to drop off medical bill payments or to talk with billing representatives should now come to the new south entrance to the support services wing at the hospital. The phone number for the billing department will remain the same at (218) 927-8272.
Those applying for employment at Riverwood should also come to the new support services wing where the human resources offices will be located on the first floor. The phone number for the human resources office remains the same at (218) 927-5568.
Volunteers will staff a reception desk in the lobby of the new wing and will direct visitors and offer information as needed.
The support services wing is named after Michael F. Ryan, who demonstrated outstanding commitment and leadership during his tenure as chairman of the Riverwood Healthcare Center Governing Board of Directors from 1994 to 2010. In the lobby of the new wing, a special memorial plaque will highlight Mike Ryan’s achievements, including a list of the donors who have made gifts in his name to support the Better Together capital campaign for the hospital expansion project. Riverwood will host a dedication ceremony for the new wing later this summer.
“I’d like to extend a special thank you to all those who made a donation to our capital campaign in Mike Ryan’s honor,” Hagen adds. “This support is a testament to Mike’s commitment to quality healthcare provided locally for Aitkin County and surrounding communities that Riverwood serves.”
